| I Just COULDN'T Resist!! | | Sometime ago I did a discussion about watching the clock while ebaying...the idea of NOT placing a bid until the last minute or so. Well, I just couldn't resist this.
Now this might make me sound like a bit of a hypocrite as I'm always poo-pooing designer clothes...I did manage to get a pricey pair of Calvin Klein jeans once at a steal since the designer jeans shop near me was closing out of business....so I got my Calvin Klein jeans for a mere $5.00 plus tax..not bad huh?Well I've been in need of a new pair of jeans...I was perfectly willing to settle for good old Levi's and still might get a pair..BUT!!!So there I was at ebay and as a joke decided to hunt around to see if there were any designer jeans available..there were..Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Armani, and on and on with the pricey designer labels and most for a steal...Then I came across a pair of get this...Versace Classic cut jeans....they are a men's size which I prefer..women's slacks/jeans just don't look great as they usually have a wider hip size which I just don't have...So these were perfect....The right waist size, right inseam....AND the starting bid was $19.99...they are pre-worn but from the... | |
| | anyone with a nikon d70? | | Hi,Just wondering if I can get some tips n tricks from anyone with a Nikon D70.More for taking strange shots .. like lighting at night, moon shots etc.Thanks,t Classic cut jeans....they are a men's size which I prefer..women's slacks/jeans just don't look great as they usually have a wider hip size which I just don't have...So these were perfect....The right waist size, right inseam....AND the starting bid was $19.99...they are pre-worn but from the photos do look in great condition...no rips or tears, nothing....So here I was watching the clock....NO ONE was bidding on them!! I was down to the last minute and placed my bid...AND I WON THEM!! HOLY CRAP...I have a pair of Versace jeans at retail price of about $300 and up new....Now just how could I resist...Gee..now if I could just get a new Nikon D70 digital camera for $20...LOLAnyway...have you ever gotten a real spectacular bargain at ebay? | |

| | got a new toy! | | hey, guys! got my d90 a couple of days ago. I upgraded from the nikon d70, and the changes are WOW! Unquestionable better image quality, the 3inches LCD instead of 1.8inches is really something, and the way it works with my lenses (the nikkor 18-70 f/3.5-4.5 and nikkor 50mm f/1.8) is amazing!!!
Now, i hope to get to sell my d70, so i can get a battery grip, and extra battery, some more memory cards and a tripod for my new camera. Damn, photography is EXPENSIVE!:)Are there nikon d90 users here on mylot? what's your opinion about this camera? | |
| | | dragonfly | | hey, guys!here's a photo i took recently. it's a photo of a dragonfly.
dragonflies are quite fun to photograph when you get used to their habits, and when they get used to you around them. you can even touch them (i'm serious) and they won't fly away.:)
i took this with my nikon d70 and it's pop-up flash, in manual mode, aperture @ f/8, shutter speed at 1/250 and with my sigma 18-50mm @50mm, manual focus.

| | IR- To Convert Or Not To Convert? | | I love infrared photography! I currently have an infrared filter that I attach to the end of my camera. These IR filters require you to put your camera on a tripod and use a very long exposure. Unfortunately, long exposures aren't always practical for all situations. Plus, infrared filters are pretty expensive, so I only have one. Which means it will only fit on one of my lenses. There is an alternative to using IR filters, and that is converting your camera to shoot infrared. Life Pixel http://lifepixel.com is a company that converts digital cameras to shoot infrared. With these converted cameras, you can shoot handheld infrared photos with quick shutter speeds! Plus, since it's your actual camera that is altered, you can use any lens to get infrared photos!My first DSLR was a Nikon D70. I later upgraded to a Nikon D300. I still have my D70, but I haven't even touched it since I got my D300. So I'm debating whether or not to convert my D70 in infrared. The problem with the conversion is that it voids the warranty.
