auto focusing Nikon D300
I am having a slight technical issue with my D300 and hope someone can help me, when I put the lens in A/F mode it sometimes goes into auto focus and then when I go to hit the shutter it goes out of focus, and sometimes the only solution is to switch to manual, in which I loose the shot sometimes, if its a fixed shot, I can manage, but some of my shots are coming out bluryDoes anyone have any tips for this?Mooch
Extended Warranty for Nikon D300
There are companies like MACK that do extended warranty for cameras, is there a warranty, that anyone knows of that covers lenses? And one that also one like Best Buy sells that covers accidental breakage?Buying them separate from the package I find is a lot cheaper than the companies trying to sell them when you buy the package.Mooch
I got my answer on a camera
I messaged a friend of mine today about the Nikon D300 and all the reviews I am reading blows this camera ahead of a lot of the competition, to include Canon, die hard canon users are loving this camera as well, for many many reasons, However I got my answer on package and that is to go with the best you can afford for the money you have and that will be a D300 with the consumer VR lenses, the Pro VR lenses are 5-10x more expensive than the consumer VR lenses, so that is what I intend to purchase, there are 2 sellers on ebay that have my eye, and I will question one seller about seeing if he can match the package of the other seller with VR lenses, if not, I go with the other seller. So my mind is made up and my husband is on board, and right now about 2,200 is going right to a camera, I think that will support the economy even if I use Ebay for the purchase of Camera.Mooch
IR- To Convert Or Not To Convert?
I love infrared photography! I currently have an infrared filter that I attach to the end of my camera. These IR filters require you to put your camera on a tripod and use a very long exposure. Unfortunately, long exposures aren't always practical for all situations. Plus, infrared filters are pretty expensive, so I only have one. Which means it will only fit on one of my lenses. There is an alternative to using IR filters, and that is converting your camera to shoot infrared. Life Pixel http://lifepixel.com is a company that converts digital cameras to shoot infrared. With these converted cameras, you can shoot handheld infrared photos with quick shutter speeds! Plus, since it's your actual camera that is altered, you can use any lens to get infrared photos! My first DSLR was a Nikon D70. I later upgraded to a Nikon D300. I still have my D70, but I haven't even touched it since I got my D300. So I'm debating whether or not to convert my D70 in infrared. The problem with the conversion is that it voids the warranty. Plus, I'm currently using my D70 as a back up camera, so if I convert it then I lose my back up. Plus, I'm very attached to my D70! It's my baby! I'm...
Cash your check at a major retailer?
Want to spend your tax rebate stimulus check at Walmart, K'Mart, Staples, Home Depot, Radio Shack, or Kroger? No problem they will cash your check fro free so you can spend your money there toohttp://wcbstv.com/slideshows/rebate.checks.deals.20.712554.htmlThis doesn't surprise me, but I will NOT be taking advantage of this opportunity, as my rebate is in large part going to go to a camera, and a Nikon D300, and well the prices I saw at best buy can't compare to what I will get on the net from Ebay......I would think this would be very risky and cause for people to try to rob people of money ......Will you cash your rebate check at a retailer that you planeed to spend it at?Mooch
