| How can you maximize the life of your digital camera's battery? | | digital camera has a tendency to drain out the battery and it does not allow you more than twenty to thirty shots per change. Here are some tips that I adopt to maximize the batteries' life.1. Turn off the LCD and use view finder instead because the LCD uses up more power.2. Plan your shots before turning on the camera. Turning the camera on and off after every shot will use up more battery power than turning the camera on taking a few shots and then turning it off.3. Try to use higher exposure setting over flash when your battery seems to be drying out.4. Avoid playback of the picture and videos you just taken.Hope this will help you. | |

| | Batteries for my Digital Camera | | I just bought a digital camera that requires batteries to operate. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the kind of batteries(brand) I should buy. I've used one time use batteries that last a while in the camera, but after awhile those batteries get expensive. Which rechargable batteries are the best? | |

| | A Lucky, Yet Not So Lucky Week... | | Okay...Last week was probably my worst week EVER, but it also seemed like one of my best weeks ever...Hmmm...How can that be?Well, here's what happened...
Sunday 3/1/09: Day 1 of Worst/Best WeekSunday was a planned day for my mother and I to go to Havre de Grace and take pictures for my photography course. I start the day waiting to charge up my camera battery (I had forgotten to do it the previous night, so I lost a lot of time that I could've spent taking pictures). Finally, the camera battery charges up and we leave for the nearly 2 hour trip. We make a stop at a gas station and my mother, who seems to be in a very bad mood, hands me her credit card to pay at the pump. I go to pay for gas and hand the card back to her a little too quickly. My mother drops the card and screams,"A*shole! Pick it up!" so loud that everyone pumping gas could hear. Everyone looked up from pumping gas and stared at me. I picked up the card and yelled,"Here! HAPPY?!" I get back into the car and we argue loudly in the gas station parking lot for about a minute with the car... | |
| | my husband made the mistake of telling me I needed to calm down this morning | | Hey Y'allHappy Friday, I was not home from about 10am until about an hour or so ago, and when I got home I took a shower and started to upload my images I took today,My kids were just hitting every last nerve wrong and it got to the point when my son was laughing at me because I was in tears, he says he wasn't but yes he was, and my camera battery had falling in the sheets and blankets and I was going apey looking for it, and my husband couldn't understand why I was getting so upset, and in tears, he just said I needed to calm down, which, in reality, did nothing more than make me upset....Imagine that when a child is making ice, that he gets a splatter of water on his sister, and she just screams, this was after I told them I had a really bad headache, but the little things they kept fighting over, like who was going to sit where, and who was going to work where and who wasn't going to sit where to work, it finally got so bad that I just stormed out and got mad.....but in trying to get my battery to charge in the car for my camera, I needed to figure out which adapter I needed, well I was looking for my indoor charger which my son was holding in his hands and trying... | |
| | Should I buy adapter plugs or a power strip? | | We're going to be travelling to the UK in November. I've found that all of my electricals will only need an adapter plug. However, I've got at least four items that will need plugging in (laptop, charging video camera, charging camera battery, and cell phone). Since there probably aren't a whole lot of outlets in our hotel room, should I buy a universal power strip instead? It sounds like such an easier way to deal with the problem but since it sounds so easy, I'm wondering if it will really work. Thanks! | |
| | Your Photography tip or secret | | When I first started in Digital Photography I bought a mediacard holder and paid, $19.95, for it and it worked for my Smart Meida Cards. When I moved up to a larger camera and Compact Flash the card holder was no longer large enough. The one I bought broke the hinges and I was using a rubber band to hold it together. One day while taking a short cut through the fishing department in Walmar I saw a small pocket size fishing tackle box. It looked the right size for my AA Batteries for my flash and my extra camera battery. It was $2.99, and returnable if it did not work. It work great - 3 compartments, one large and two smaller and it could hold 16 AA Bateries, or 4 camera batteries, or 8 CF Cards in the individual plastic cases or any combination. It worked great. But a Major problem, my son took it when he was deployed in Iraq to keep the dust off his media cards and batteries, bought another one, my daughter took that one to keep her CD batteries together in the car. I have purchased 5 of them and still have 2. They work great and I have yet to spend the, $19.95, I spent for the special card case.I would like to know what you secret find or tip is. I see photographers with... | |
